'Wicked: For Good' Trailer: Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande tease EPIC conclusion to Elphaba and Glinda's story; promise audience will be 'changed for good'

It’s time to follow the yellow brick road back to Emerald City with the new trailer of ‘Wicked: For Good’. The 3.4-minute clip dropped online and it is already teases a sweeping, emotional and comical conclusion to the story of our favourite witches – Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba and Ariana Grande’s Glinda. Amidst much hype and anticipation, the new trailer dropped online, giving fans glimpses of the story set to unfold on the big screens. Picking up after the events of ‘Wicked’, the trailer presents Elphaba living in exile, branded as the “Wicked Witch of the West,” while Glinda embraces her role as the public face and spreads “Goodness” in Emerald City. Just as Glinda, under the guidance of Madame Morrible, begins to gain the trust of the people, Elphaba returns to warn them “Our Wizard lies.”Fans of the musical will be pleased to spot familiar and new musical highlights. The trailer gives a taste of “No Good Deed” performed by Erivo, along with the duet ‘Changed for Good’.

New characters

The clip also gives us glimpses of the famed characters from the Wizard of Oz story. The film features glimpses of the Tin Man, the Lion, Dorothy and the Scarecrow. The characters were introduced in the first film, however, it remains to be seen how big a role they play in the new film.

Changed for good

One of the most striking messages in the trailer was the invitation to “Witness the epic conclusion and be changed for good.”

Wicked: For Good movie plot

Set after the events of the original, Wicked: For Good finds Elphaba, hiding deep within the enchanted forests of Oz. Meanwhile, Glinda has risen as a dazzling public figure, but when tensions boil over and an angry mob threatens Elphaba’s very existence, both women are forced to confront their shared past.
