Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan is reportedly set to receive a formal summons from Customs after officers seized two luxury vehicles from his Elamkulam residence during the widening crackdown under Operation Numkhor.As reported by the Reporters Channel, officials revealed that four vehicles linked to the ‘Lokah’ actor are under investigation, including a Land Rover Defender and a Toyota Land Cruiser. One of the cars is registered in another person’s name and lacks a valid fitness certificate. Reportedly, the Motor Vehicles Department is expected to initiate action on this discrepancy.

According to the sources, customs confirmed that Dulquer will be called in for questioning and directed to submit registration and related documents for all vehicles under probe.At the same time, the agency is pursuing two vehicles reportedly belonging to actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. Inspections were carried out yesterday at both Dulquer’s Panampilly Nagar residence and Prithviraj’s home in Thevara—though no vehicles were found at the latter.

Amit Chakkalackal responds

Actor Amit Chakkalackal’s residence in Elamakkara Pottakkuzhi was also raided, with eight cars flagged. Speaking to Manorama Online, Amit clarified, “Only one of the seized vehicles belongs to me—a Land Cruiser registered in Madhya Pradesh. The other five vehicles were brought in for repair work.” He added that Customs questioned him late into the night, and, “They told me they would call me again after verifying the documents.”

Smuggling network across Kerala

Customs officers seized 36 vehicles in a single day of inspections and estimate that 150–200 SUVs have been smuggled into Kerala. Many of the cars were allegedly imported from Bhutan under false registration to evade duties. The crackdown spans Kochi, Thrissur, Malappuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Kottayam, Kannur, and Adimali, with multiple dealerships also under watch.Reportedly, the officials stressed that Operation Numkhor—named after the Bhutanese word for “vehicle”—will intensify in the coming days.
