Himachal Bride Killed On Wedding Eve, Half-Burnt Body Found 500 Metres From Home

Tragedy struck Himachal Pradesh’s Una district when a 24-year-old woman, set to be married the next day, was found brutally murdered, her body partially burned, in Bairian village on Tuesday. The crime occurred within the jurisdiction of Jol police station in the Bangana subdivision. Her body was found around 500 metres away from her home.

The deceased has been identified as Anshika Thakur, daughter of the late Vipin Thakur and a resident of Bairian. She was scheduled to marry a young man from Bhindla village on Wednesday, September 24.

According to the police, in addition to her body being set on fire, deep wounds were found on Anshika’s face and neck, indicating a brutal murder. The incident has raised troubling questions over who lured the young woman out of her home late at night and killed her.

The tragic discovery was made by a forest guard who spotted Anshika’s body along the Bairiyan-Ramnagar road. The guard promptly alerted the Jol police station, and officers arrived at the scene to take possession of the body and commence their investigation. A forensic team has also been called in to assist with the case.

Jol Police Station in-charge Ashok Kumar confirmed that the 24-year-old woman’s body was found partially burned. He said every angle of the murder is being thoroughly investigated, and police have launched a search for all possible clues related to the case.
