Dimple Kapadia refused to do an intimate scene with Anil Kapoor in 'Jaanbaaz' due to THIS reason, Feroz Khan stepped in and convinced her

Anil Kapoor has been a constant force in Bollywood for decades, carving his space as one of the most versatile and bankable stars in the industry. Now 68, the actor has been part of Hindi cinema for over 40 years, delivering memorable performances across genres. But not many know that once, during a film shoot, a leading actress outright refused to shoot a romantic scene with him. Here’s the story. The incident dates back to 1986, during the making of ‘Janbaaz’. The film, directed by Feroz Khan, had Anil Kapoor in the lead opposite Dimple Kapadia. The movie is remembered till date for their on-screen chemistry was loved by audiences, and the film went on to become a hit. Even the songs of the movie turned out to be iconic. Every song was loved. Among the many sequences planned, one was an intimate scene, scheduled to be filmed at Feroz Khan’s farmhouse stable. Both actors arrived prepared for the shoot, but things took an unexpected turn. As soon as Anil Kapoor removed his shirt for the scene, the atmosphere on set changed completely. Dimple Kapadia reportedly refused to go ahead with the shoot the moment she saw Anil shirtless. The reason? According to accounts from the time, she was taken aback by his chest hair.

It is said that despite much persuasion, Dimple stood firm until director Feroz Khan personally stepped in. After several requests, she finally agreed to film the scene. Even then, she didn’t let Anil off easily—teasing him for quite a while afterwards, calling him “baal ki dukaan” (a shop full of hair).’Jaanbaaz’ is also remembered for Sridevi’s cameo and the iconic song, ‘Har Kisi Ko Nahi Milta Yahan Pyaar Zindagi Mein’.
