The trailer of Rishab Shetty’s much-awaited ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ received massive appreciation from the audiences. After the makers dropped the trailer of the highly anticipated film, a poster related to it went viral on the internet. It featured sacred guidelines everyone was asked to follow until the release of the ‘Kantara’ prequel. The actor has now debunked the authenticity of the alleged poster and clarified his side.

According to the viral poster, people who want to watch ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ should avoid drinking alcohol, smoking, and consuming meat until the film releases in theaters. Not just that, the poster also urged everyone to sign up to get a certificate after completing the fasting period.

However, the actor-director hosted a press conference in Karnataka to address the issue. According to the Cinema Express report, Rishab Shetty called the poster “completely baseless.” The actor stated that he or the production house don’t associate themselves with the poster that has been circulating.Shetty said, “When it comes to food or lifestyle, it is every individual’s personal choice. Nobody has the right to dictate it. That poster had nothing to do with us.” Addressing the issue further, Rishab Shetty added that he noticed the poster doing rounds on the internet but chose not to react immediately.The director shared that he notified the production house about the same. Shetty said, “This is the trend now; someone creates a narrative, it circulates, and discussions follow. People bring in their own interpretations, sometimes even to gain popularity. But that doesn’t mean it has any link to the film.”

The highly-awaited film is a prequel to Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara’, which was released in the year 2022. Apart from him, the film will also feature Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Pramod Shetty. The film has been scheduled to hit theaters on October 2, 2025.
