The OG Queen of Hearts, Rani Mukerji, celebrated her win at the 71st National Film Awards in a heritage saree designed by couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Rani Mukerji, known for breaking stereotypes with her unconventional roles and onscreen powerful performances, channelled her love for six yards of sheer elegance and balanced it with a personal touch on this special day.

Rani Mukerji, who won the Best Actress in a Leading Role award for her performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway (2023), styled the earthy tone saree featuring an intricately crafted gold border with a minimalist blouse.

Making a classic style statement in the contemporary Indian drape, Rani accessorised her Indian attire with a statement double-layered choker necklace and exquisite dangling earrings.

The highlight of Rani Mukerji’s traditional yet timeless, alluring style was the minimal charm gold chain, which carried the alphabet initials of her daughter, Adira’s name. The personal touch in Rani’s style resonates with the character of her movie, which won her the prestigious award. Rani shared her love for her daughter through this beautiful chain that highlighted the most important person in her life. Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway follows the journey of a mother who fights to regain custody of her children after Norwegian authorities take them away from her.

Exuding timeless opulence in the handcrafted ensemble and complementing it with statement jewellery, Rani kept her hair and makeup minimal yet festive. The iconic middle parting hairstyle complementing her gorgeous face, Rani’s understated glam was highlighted with a matte finish brown lipstick.

Rani Mukerji was seated between actor Shah Rukh Khan, who looked dapper in a black bandhgala suit and actor Vikrant Massey, who came dressed in a classic white Indian attire. Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey received the Best Actor Award for the films Jawan and 12th Fai, respectively.

The 71st National Film Awards ceremony saw the best in Indian cinema come together under one roof. The awards ceremony was attended by celebrities Shah Rukh Khan, Vikrant Massey, Mohanlal, Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ronnie Screwvala, Anupama Chopra, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Guneet Monga, Meghna Gulzar, Vaibhavi Merchant, and Apoorvaa Mehta, among others.

The 71st National Film Awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu, and the ceremony was hosted at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
