Clashes Over ‘I Love Mohammed’ March In Uttarakhand, Super Typhoon Batters Philippines & Taiwan

Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar is tense after violence broke out during an “I Love Mohammed” march in Kashipur. Police swiftly moved into action, imposing Section 163 in sensitive areas. A joint enforcement drive by the municipal corporation, electricity department, pollution control board, and police cut 17 illegal power connections in Ali Khan locality, targeting alleged miscreants. In a separate incident nearby, a speeding car narrowly avoided a fatal crash after ramming into an electric pole, with the dramatic escape captured on CCTV footage.Internationally, the world’s eyes are on the devastating super typhoon that struck northern Philippines and Taiwan on Monday. Billed as the strongest storm of the year so far, it unleashed destructive winds and torrential rains, causing widespread flooding and paralyzing infrastructure. Entire villages in northern Philippines were submerged, prompting massive rescue operations. Thousands of people have already been evacuated to safety, while emergency teams continue to pull stranded residents out of floodwaters using boats and ropes. Taiwan too is witnessing severe disruptions, though early preparedness minimized casualties.In cultural news, the music world mourns the passing of celebrated singer Zubeen Garg. Known for his versatile performances across Hindi, Bangla, and multiple regional languages, his final rites will be conducted with full state honors.
