UP Election 2027: Mayawati Calls for Poll Readiness, Urges BSP Workers to Reject Violence

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has intensified preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections by calling on party workers to begin grassroots mobilization across the state. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, the BSP supremo urged her cadre to remain focused on strengthening the organization while adhering to constitutional principles. During her address, Mayawati referred to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of securing justice through democratic and legal means rather than through confrontation or violence. She said that Ambedkar consistently encouraged marginalized communities to fight for their rights within the framework of the Constitution and warned against actions that could weaken their cause. Commenting on recent incidents of unrest in parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Mayawati criticized violent demonstrations and road blockades, describing them as counterproductive. She alleged that certain political parties were attempting to provoke and mislead members of the Dalit community for electoral gains, leading to unnecessary tensions on the streets The BSP chief also recalled the ideological foundation laid by party founder Kanshi Ram, emphasizing disciplined political participation and social empowerment. She urged party workers to remain united, expand their outreach, and prepare systematically for the upcoming Assembly elections instead of getting distracted by political provocations. Her remarks come as political parties across Uttar Pradesh have begun sharpening their strategies ahead of the 2027 electoral battle. With caste equations, welfare politics, and grassroots campaigns expected to dominate the contest, Mayawati’s message signals the BSP’s renewed focus on organizational rebuilding and voter engagement. Political observers believe the statement is aimed at reinforcing the BSP’s traditional support base while projecting the party as one committed to constitutional values, peaceful democratic participation, and long-term electoral preparation.
