Navratri Day 2 Puja Vidhi And Aarti: Shardiya Navratri begins on September 22 this year and continues for nine days, concluding on October 2 with Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami. During this festival, devotees worship Goddess Durga in her nine forms, called Navdurgas: Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri. Each day is dedicated to a different form, with special prayers, rituals, and fasts observed by devotees.

On the second day, worship focuses on Goddess Brahmacharini, the unmarried form of Goddess Parvati. She represents penance, self-discipline, and spiritual devotion, inspiring devotees to cultivate patience, restraint, and devotion in their lives.
Navratri 2025 Day 2: Who is Goddess Brahmacharini
According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Brahmacharini is the daughter of Daksha Prajapati. After her previous incarnation as Kushmanda, she performed severe penance for 1,000 years, surviving on fruits and flowers, then spent another 100 years eating only leafy greens while sleeping on the floor.

She finally fasted completely for 3,000 years, sustaining herself only on Bilva leaves. She is usually depicted walking barefoot, holding a jap mala (prayer beads) in her right hand and a Kamandal (water pot) in her left.
Worshipping her is believed to bring virtues, blessings, and spiritual strength.
Navratri 2025 Day 2: Puja Vidhi and Samagri
On Day 2, devotees sprinkle Gangajal on Goddess Brahmacharini and the place of worship at home. Offer jasmine flowers, rice, and sandalwood in a kalash (metal pot), and perform abhishek with milk, curd, and honey.
A special sweet offering of sugar is also prepared as bhog. These rituals help devotees seek her blessings for patience, discipline, and prosperity.

उसकी विरति रहे ठिकाने। जो तेरी महिमा को जाने॥
रद्रक्षा की माला ले कर। जपे जो मन्त्र श्रद्धा दे कर॥
