John Richmond has staged the ‘Culture Vulture’ show at London Fashion Week. The British designer, passionate about pop music, broke the traditional runway show mould, introducing his Spring/Summer 2026 collection in an event blending fashion and music held at the Stereo club in Covent Garden, which became the stage for a runway show and a gig.

“Culture Vulture is a new way of experiencing the brand: Instinctive, immersive, alive”, said John Richmond in a press release. The label will next stage events with this new format in Milan and Paris.

“Runway and nightlife blur, the band disrupts the order and the clothes come to life: Unfiltered, unexpected,” added John Richmond.

The collection presented at the Stereo club drew on John Richmond’s authentic heritage, paying tribute to musical subcultures such as 70s soul boys, American pre-punk, club chic, and Goth.

The collection was big on contrasts: satin colliding with organza, lace and georgette with leather and worn denim, couture beads with tattoo-inspired graphics. The statement items embodied Richmond’s signature touch, streetwear yet romantic, raw but refined.

Black and ivory dominated the palette, enlivened by flashes of gold, turquoise and yellow. Mirko Pedone curated the event’s style, his links to subcultures amplifying John Richmond’s rebel spirit.

The event culminated with a party in collaboration with The1989, a platform rooted in contemporary underground culture. The line-up featured Paul Simonon of The Clash as DJ with Dan Donovan and Faris Badwan of the Horrors. Solange Smith followed with a live poetry reading, while Sounds Mint and other bands from the London underground scene played live music.

John Richmond presented his previous collection at London’s Tate Modern in February. The Culture Vulture show marked the label’s return to the UK after a 20-year absence, having previously showed in Milan. The brand is owned by Italian fashion group Arav Fashion, led by CEO Mena Marano, which acquired the label in 2016. John Richmond decided to stop showing in Milan after the Italian Fashion Chamber declined to include the label in the Milan Fashion Week calendar.
