Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka made the announcement at a special program held at the Secretariat.

The Telangana government has announced a record bonus for employees of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) under its profit-sharing policy. Each permanent worker will receive Rs 1,95,610, while contract workers will get Rs 5,500 as a bonus.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka made the announcement at a special program held at the Secretariat, attended by several ministers including Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Pongulerti Srinivas Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Vivek Vekata Swamy. The state has allocated 34 percent of Singareni’s net profits for bonuses, totalling Rs 819 crores to be distributed among 41,000 permanent employees and 30,000 contract workers.

Presenting the company’s financials, the Chief Minister noted that Singareni registered a total revenue of Rs 6,394 crores, with Rs 4,034 crores allocated for future investments. Net profits stood at Rs 2,360 crores, of which Rs 819 crores are now being shared with employees.

Revanth Reddy praised the workers’ contributions, stating: “The struggles of Singareni workers during the Telangana statehood movement will never be forgotten. Our government will always recognise their role and stand by them. Workers are the reason Singareni has been moving on the path of profits. We want to strengthen the company further to compete with corporate giants.”

On the issue of privatisation, he remarked: “Workers have requested that mines leased out to private players be handed back to Singareni. If private participation keeps increasing, the very survival of Singareni could be in question. We will take up this matter with the Centre. We will continue to support workers in the future and ensure that Singareni remains profitable. Another bonus will also be announced for workers during Diwali.”

The Chief Minister also raised concerns over GST reforms, saying: “Due to GST changes, Telangana has lost nearly Rs 7,000 crores in revenue. The Centre must immediately compensate states for this loss. It is not right for the Centre to impose unilateral decisions that burden states. We demand a Viability Gap Fund for the next five years to safeguard state finances.”

Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka added that the Coal India bonus will also be distributed during Diwali. “This is the first time in history that contract workers are being given a bonus, and it is the highest bonus ever paid to Singareni employees,” he said.
