During an interaction with the Indian community in Rabat, Morocco, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recalled how terrorists had targeted Indian citizens after asking their religion. He said India’s response was not driven by faith but by justice, stressing, “Humne kisi ka dharm dekh kar nahi, unka karm dekh kar maara hai (We didn’t see their religion, we saw their deeds).”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Morocco on Sunday for a two-day official visit, becoming the first Indian Defence Minister to visit the country.

He landed at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, where he was received by the Head Wali of the Military Command of Casablanca and India’s Ambassador to Morocco, Sanjay Rana. Members of the Indian community, including the President of the Indian Association, were also present in large numbers to welcome him.
In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Morocco said, “Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh arrived in Casablanca, Morocco, on a bilateral visit at the invitation of Abdeltif Loudiyi, Minister Delegate for National Defence of Morocco. He was warmly received by senior government and military officials, Ambassador of India Sanjay Rana and members of the Indian community.”
During the visit, Singh will inaugurate Tata Advanced Systems’ new manufacturing facility for the Wheeled Armoured Platform (WhAP) 8×8 at Berrechid, the first Indian defence manufacturing plant in Africa.
He is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Moroccan counterpart Abdeltif Loudiyi and meet members of the Indian community in Rabat. Singh said the new facility marks an important milestone and reflects the growing global footprint of India’s defence industry.
