When Deepika Padukone admitted being only 12th pass

When Deepika Padukone admitted being only 12th pass, says she sacrificed college for her career

Deepika Padukone revealed she is just 12th pass, sacrificing college for her Bollywood career. Despite trying college and distance education, she couldn’t complete a degree. Her parents initially objected but later supported her passion. Deepika recently began shooting for ‘King’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan, marking their sixth film together.

Deepika Padukone once admitted in the past that sacrifices had to be made to reach this level, including missing out on a college education. A viral old video shows the actor speaking about her educational qualifications, revealing that she is ‘just 12th pass.’The viral video from book launchThe video is reportedly from the 2017 launch of Hema Malini’s biography ‘Beyond The Dream Girl’. In the footage, Deepika is seen wearing a red Banarasi saree and looking stunning in traditional attire. The actor spoke about how success requires ‘sacrifices and extreme dedication.’ She also revealed that skipping college was a price she had to pay to advance her career.Challenges balancing modeling and educationThe actress shared that there are sacrifices and that one has to be extremely dedicated. She mentioned that she hasn’t gone to college. Deepika added that she was climbing the ladder of success as a model, which made it tough to keep up with her education. She finished her 11th and 12th, and even during those years, she just about managed to finish because she was already a very successful model based in Bangalore. However, she kept traveling to Mumbai and Delhi for work and couldn’t keep up with her studies. Attempts at higher education and parental concernsPadukone also shared that she tried doing one year of her degree through college but couldn’t manage to complete it. She then attempted distance education but was unable to finish that as well. As a result, she is just 12th pass. Deepika revealed that her parents had a big issue with this because they always wanted her to start working only after earning a basic degree. However, over time, they realized how passionate she was about her career choice. She added that she wouldn’t have been able to achieve what she did without their support, sharing this with a smile.Latest updates and upcoming projectsMeanwhile, Deepika recently shared a photo while holding Shah Rukh Khan’s hand and announced that she’s begun shooting for ‘King’. She captioned, “The very first lesson he taught me almost 18 years ago while filming Om Shanti Om was that the experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success. I couldn’t agree more and have applied that learning to every decision I’ve made since. And that’s probably why we’re back making our 6th movie together? #king #day1 @iamsrk @s1danand“.Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘King’ also features Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, Abhishek Bachchan and more. Deepika also teamed up with Allu Arjun for Atlee’s upcoming film ‘AA22xA6’.
