With Uber Safari, visitors can set out on guided game drives through the Nairobi National Park, home to lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos, and more without stepping away from the familiar Uber app. It’s a seamless way to discover the marvels of nature while enjoying the comfort and convenience of a booked ride.

“This is not just another Uber trip. Nairobi is one of the few cities in the world with a full national park right at its doorstep. That’s what makes it special, and we wanted to create something that celebrates this uniqueness,” said Imran Manji, Uber’s Head of East Africa, in a statement to The Nairobi Law Monthly.

The service provides pick-up and drop-off from your preferred location, along with expert wildlife guides to enrich the safari experience. To make it possible, Uber has teamed up with licensed tour operators to design tailored journeys.

Two packages are available: a day safari priced at KSh 25,000 (around ₹17,043) that accommodates up to seven guests, and a night safari at KSh 40,000 (around ₹27,177) for a maximum of five guests. Bookings must be made in advance, two days ahead for daytime tours and five days for nighttime outings. Wildlife lovers can also plan their trips as far as three months in advance.

“What we’ve done is merge the simplicity and accessibility people associate with Uber with the magic of the safari experience. The Nairobi National Park and our technology are what inspired this idea,” added Manji.

Payments are made directly through the Uber app, while entry tickets to the park must be purchased separately from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).

The impact is already visible. According to the Tourism Research Institute, Nairobi National Park welcomed 24% more visitors in the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year, making it one of the region’s top attractions.

The initiative is being rolled out in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Kenya Wildlife Service, Tourism Regulatory Authority, and trusted fleet partners, ensuring visitors a smooth, safe, and unforgettable adventure.
