‘Jolly LLB 3’ gets UA certificate from CBFC

Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi's 'Jolly LLB 3' gets a U/A certificate from the censor board, THESE changes made - Deets inside

Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s much-awaited film Jolly LLB 3 has now cleared the censor process. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) awarded the movie a U/A certificate along with a “16+” advisory on September 2. While the board instructed the makers to implement a few alterations, the changes did not alter the core storyline.Among the directives, the earlier disclaimer was scrapped and replaced with a new one. Instances showing an alcohol brand were blurred, and the word “Fu***r” was removed. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC also sought adjustments in specific scenes, for instance, toning down a sequence where policemen were shown assaulting an elderly man, and blurring a logo on a file carried by Janaki (played by Seema Biswas). Additionally, one dialogue in the second half of the movie was revised to: “Janki amma ka gaon sirf ek…cheque muh pe fek ke mara.”

‘Jolly LLB 3’ Trailer Brings Double Mayhem, Fans Share Excitement

After these corrections, the film was officially cleared with a runtime of 157 minutes (2 hours and 37 minutes).Meanwhile, the film has found itself in legal trouble. A lawyer from Jabalpur has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Madhya Pradesh High Court, alleging that Jolly LLB 3 disrespects the judiciary through its song Bhai Vakeel Hai. The petition points to lyrics such as “fikar na kar tera bhai vakeel hai” and references to “package deals” and “judge ko mamu banana”, claiming they demean the legal system. The plea also notes that the song features actors dancing in black coats and lawyers’ gowns, attire traditionally reserved for courtrooms and meant to be worn with dignity.
