US Vice President JD Vance has backed efforts to dox individuals “celebrating” the killing of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. Doxing typically refers to the practice of publicly revealing someone’s private information, such as their home address or place of work, often to intimidate or harass them.

On Monday, Vance guest-hosted Kirk’s podcast, where he urged listeners to “call out” anyone expressing joy over Kirk’s death, even suggesting they contact those individuals’ employers.

“Hell, call their employer. We don’t believe in political violence, but we do believe in civility, and there is no civility in the celebration of political assassination,” Vance said.

The vice-president also reiterated the Trump administration’s commitment to “dismantle the institutions that promote violence and terrorism in our own country.”

Vance was joined on the podcast by Stephen Miller, Trump’s deputy chief of staff, who promised a crackdown on what he called a “vast domestic terrorist network” responsible for Kirk’s death, The Guardian reported.

“We are going to channel all of the anger that we have over the organized campaign that led to this assassination, to uproot and dismantle these terrorist networks,” Miller said.

The US deputy chief of staff further added, “With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, homeland security and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle and destroy these networks and make America safe again for the American people. It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name,”

The two-hour livestream podcast also featured appearances from several Trump administration officials, including White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy.

The podcast broadcast came just five days after Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative media figure, was shot and killed during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University on September 10. Kirk was well known for his hard-right views and for using social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube to promote conservative causes, particularly criticism of the transgender rights movement.

The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt and is expected to be formally charged with murder.
