Manoj Pahwa opens up about his ‘Ghante Ka Badshah’ dialogue from Aryan Khan’s 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' it was not about Shah Rukh Khan

Aryan Khan is debuting as writer-director with ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ a satirical take on the Hindi film industry featuring numerous celebrity cameos. Manoj Pahwa revealed that Aryan penned the controversial ‘Ghante Ka Badshah’ dialogue, praising his passion and dedication despite the age gap. Bobby Deol also lauded Aryan’s work ethic and Pahwa’s delivery.

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is all set to make his debut in the world of entertainment as the writer-director of The Bads of Bollywood. The show which is a satirical take on the working of Hindi film industry has a series of cameos from Salman Khan to Aamir Khan to Ranveer Singh to Ss Rajamouli and many more. When the trailer of the show was dropped some time back one particular scene caught everyone’s attention.

The scene was about a crew member informing Manoj Pahwa’s character Avatar that ‘Badshah’ is coming to meet him. Pahwa’s character who is already having a tiff with the singer-composer Badshah think it is him but instead it was Badshah of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan who was coming to meet him. In his rage Pahwa ends saying to no to the meeting and says , “ Ghante Ka Badshah”. Talking about the dialogue in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Pahwa said , “ ( Laughs) I didn’t say it on my own, our writer-director, Aryan Khan, he wrote the dialogue, he directed me to say it like that, so I said it.” In fact Bobby Deol who was also present for the interview applauded Pahwa for the way he said it and replying to him Pahwa jokingly said , “ Whatever I say I say it from my heart- I have to be the character” .Pahwa also opened up on the huge age gap between him and Aryan and how was it for him to take direction from a young director. He said , “ When I signed the project, it was because I have a lot of fun working with youngsters. And I had a lot of fun working with Aryan, as he was making his first show , he wanted surety that everything should be good, so his passion was inspiring. But at times since there is a huge gap – one would also feel tired but the intention behind it was very good. ” “ You used to think that he’s a newcomer and he has all the facilities in the world, but still he’s putting in so much effort because he wants it to be perfect. So, his passion would have driven us to keep working .It was a lot of fun and hopefully people liked the results” he added.
