Houses Submerged, Shops Washed Away: Horrific Visuals Show Massive Destruction In Dehradun

Dehradun Cloudburst: Torrential rain and cloudburst caused severe damage in the city. Debris carried by flooded rivers damaged several establishments. Watch horrific visuals here.

A massive cloudburst hit Dehradun on Tuesday, triggering flash-floods and landslides. Rivers like Tamsa and Sahastradhara flooded due to the  incessant rains. The gushing waters carried debris into the main market area, leading to prominent damage to several commercial establishments like hotels and shops.

Disaster Response teams rescued a total of 100 students who were stranded after the Devbhoomi Institute campus located in Paunda area.

Massive Destruction In Dehradun | Visuals

Due to the heavy rainfall since last night, the bridge near Fun Valley and Uttarakhand Dental College on the Dehradun–Haridwar National Highway has been damaged.

Shops and hotels in Sahastradhara severely damaged due to floods triggered by heavy rains.

1-2 feet of debris has accumulated in the Tapkeshwar Mahadev Shivalinga complex, severely damaging the premises.

Debris from the flooded Sahastradhara river came into the main market, causing damage to hotels and shops.

Cloudburst in Sahastradhara has led to heavy flooding; visuals show cars buried in debris.

Visuals by PTI show settlements and a JCB machine buried in debris.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the affected areas and inspected the condition. He went to Sahastradhara, Raipur, and other localities in Dehradun that were impacted by the heavy rain.
