Rani Mukerji once expressed her disappointment at not being cast in ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’. She learned about it from someone else, which hurt her. She even cried in front of Aamir Khan. Despite this, she and Karan Johar remained friends. They later collaborated on ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’. Rani will be seen in ‘Mardaani 3’.

Rani Mukerji is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after and talented actresses we have in Bollywood. While the actress has teamed up with Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan in several movies, she once spoke about missing out on one that left her crying. And that movie was Kal Ho Naa Ho.

Finding out from someone else hurt

The actress was hurt when she found out from someone else that she hadn’t been cast in Kal Ho Naa Ho. On an episode of Koffee With Karan, she said, “To be honest, when I first got to know about it, I didn’t get to know it from you, so that is what hurt me. Like, I’m so close to you, even if you make a film, you can always discuss it with me, whether you’re taking me or somebody else.”

Breaking down in front of Aamir Khan

The Mardaani star also revealed that she broke down in front of Aamir Khan over not getting the role. She added that her reaction might have been a bit exaggerated, as she was going through a rough patch in her career at the time.Karan and Rani continued to be friends despite the incident and even worked together in the director’s next film, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Rani Mukerji was one of the protagonists in the movie.Meanwhile, on the work front, Rani will reprise her role of stern cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3. Apart from that, she is also a part of ‘King’ which will also star SRK, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan.
