'Those celebrating assassination of Charlie Kirk...': Nancy Mace invites tips on teachers, public employees on social media

Nancy Mace invites tips from public to identify people in South Carolina who are celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Rep Nancy Mance opened her X profile for receiving complaints against teachers, professors and public employees in South Carolina who are celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk. “Those celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk have no place shaping young minds or living off taxpayer dollars,” she wrote. “If you know of any professor, teacher, or public employee in South Carolina who is excusing or celebrating this violence, contact our office immediately. You want a fight? You’ve got one,” Nancy Mace wrote.

List of people taken to task after celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death

MSNBC analyst Matthew Dowd was fired after he said “hateful thoughts lead to hateful words which lead ro hateful actions” on Charlie Kirk’s death. Assistant Dean of Students, Middle Tennessee State University Laura Sosh-Lightsy was fired after she posted on Facebook that she had zero sympathy for Kirk’s death. Kirk “spoke his fate into existence”, she wrote. Some employee at University of Mississippi was fired after they reshared an Instagram post calling Kirk a white supremacist. “I have no prayers to offer Kirk or respectable statements against violence,” the original post said. Member of the US Secret Service Anthony Pough was placed on administrative leave after he made a social media post calling Kirk’s death as Karma. Oxford Union president-elect George Abaraonye is facing disciplinary proceedings for making celebratory comments on Kirk’s death. Nancy Mance earlier claimed that her office was bombarded with hateful phone called who are celebrating Kirk’s death. “The hate pouring into our office from Democrats is vile, evil, and unhinged,” said Congresswoman Mace. “Instead of serving veterans, seniors, and families who need real help, our office is stuck listening to deranged rants from the party of hate. Every threat is being recorded, every threat is being reported, and no amount of rage from the left will silence us.””For years, people called Charlie Kirk every vile name imaginable: a “Nazi,” “Hitler,” “dangerous,” “evil” simply for defending his beliefs. This kind of dehumanizing language matters because it teaches people to see someone as less than human. This climate of hatred has consequences, and we are seeing those consequences play out in real time,” Nancy Mace’s office said in a release.”This has directly disrupted the office’s ability to assist constituents. While staff are required to review, log, and report each threat, caseworkers are unable to return calls, process new casework requests, or connect constituents with critical federal services such as VA appointments, resolving problems with the IRS, or securing Social Security and Medicare benefits,” Mace’s office said.
