Delhi High Court Receives Bomb Threat, Warns Of ‘Holy Friday’ Attack. Bombay HC Gets Threat Too

The incidents come amid a recent surge in hoax bomb alerts across Delhi, heightening public concern and keeping security agencies on edge.

Bomb threat at Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court witnessed unprecedented scenes earlier on Friday when some judges began rising from their benches around 11:35 am following a bomb threat e-mail, which was later confirmed to be a hoax.Commotion spread through the court corridors after the administration received an email threatening an attack, prompting a thorough search operation by police, fire officials, bomb disposal squads, and sniffer dogs. While some judges temporarily left their benches, others continued hearing cases until 12 noon.Litigants and lawyers in the court were initially unaware of the reason for the disruption but later learned about the bomb threat email. “Today’s blast in the Delhi High Court will clear the doubts of previous bluffs,” the email read, according to sources cited by PTI.It also warned of three bombs placed inside judges’ rooms and the court complex, instructing everyone to vacate by 2:00 pm.Following an inspection of the premises, New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Devesh Kumar Mahla stated that the threat appeared to be a hoax. An FIR has been registered.

Bomb threat at Taj Palace

Another bomb threat was received via e-mail on Saturday, causing panic among staff at the Taj Palace hotel in Delhi.Upon receiving the threat, multiple police teams, including a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), Dog Squad, and Quick Reaction Team (QRT), immediately rushed to the location. However, the search did not uncover anything suspicious, and officials subsequently confirmed that the threat was a hoax.”Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi received a bomb threat mail. Nothing was found; it has been declared a hoax,” Delhi Police said.”After a thorough security check, the government authorities have stated that the incident was a hoax. The safety and security of our guests and employees is of paramount importance to us, and we continue to remain vigilant,” a spokesperson of the hotel was quoted as saying by ANI. Go to Source
