A 22-year-old named Tyler Robinson is allegedly the gunman behind the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed during a public appearance at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

The New York Post reported Robinson’s identity on Friday, citing law enforcement sources. According to the report, Robinson is a local resident of Utah. US President Donald Trump also confirmed that a suspect had been taken into custody, though he did not name Robinson directly.

In a live interview with Fox News, Trump said the suspect was handed over to authorities by someone close to him.
