‘Actors are prisoners,’ Raashii Khanna reveals as Rajinikanth’s message

'Actors are prisoners,' Raashii Khanna reveals as Rajinikanth’s message that stayed with her during 'Dharman'

Raashii Khanna is set to share the screen with one of Indian cinema’s biggest stars, Rajinikanth, in ‘Dharman.’ In the upcoming film, she is teaming up with director Ashwath Marimuthu, whose previous film ‘Dragon’ received positive reviews from the audience. Talking about her entry to the project, Raashii Khanna also spoke about her experience of working with Rajinikanth and recalled a thought from the superstar that made a deep impression on her.

Raashii Khanna reveals how Ashwath Marimuthu approached her for ‘Dharman’

Raashii Khanna’s journey to ‘Dharman’ began shortly after she watched ‘Dragon.’ Impressed by Ashwath Marimuthu’s filmmaking, she reached out to the director and told him how much she enjoyed the film. The conversation soon opened the door to their next collaboration. In an interaction with Cinema Express, Raashii Khanna recalled, “Not too long after that, he texted me again, saying, ‘The time has come.’” Ashwath then narrated Dharman to her, and the actor said she immediately connected with the story. “I instantly loved it. It had so much heart. And the opportunity to share screen space with Rajinikanth, sir, made it an easy ‘yes,'” she said.

Working with Rajinikanth gave Raashii Khanna an experience that went beyond simply sharing screen space with a superstar. She said his humility and curiosity made a strong impression on her, but one particular observation stayed with her. Recalling his words, Raashii Khanna said, “There was something he said that really stayed with me… he mentioned that actors are prisoners.” She explained that she understood the thought behind the statement and felt it reflected the difficult side of celebrity life. “I understood what he meant. The price of fame is a certain loss of freedom,” she added. The comment gave her a different perspective on the pressures that come with being a public figure.

Rajinikanth plays a doctor in Ashwath Marimuthu’s film

Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, ‘Dharman’ features Rajinikanth in the lead role, with Raashii Khanna and Simran also playing important parts. Raashii has revealed that her character occupies the emotional center of the story and has a major role in shaping Rajinikanth’s character. “My character in the film sits at the emotional core of the story and plays a key role in shaping Dharman as a person,” she said. The film also marks another reunion between Rajinikanth and Simran, several years after their previous collaboration. Rajinikanth will reportedly play a doctor in the film, adding another interesting dimension to his upcoming screen appearance. With Ashwath Marimuthu bringing his distinct storytelling style and Rajinikanth leading the cast, ‘Dharman’ is already among the much-awaited Tamil projects. Go to Source
