Maruti Suzuki India on Saturday said that it recorded its highest-ever domestic sales in July 2026, selling 200,123 units in the domestic market, posting a 42.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase from 140,570 units in the corresponding month last year, driven by strong demand across passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles.

The country’s largest carmaker reported total sales of 241,421 units during the month, up 33.7 per cent from 180,526 units in July 2025.

Domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales stood at 196,203 units, compared with 137,776 units a year earlier, while light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales rose to 3,920 units from 2,794 units.

Sales to other OEMs increased to 11,242 units, up from 8,211 units in July 2025.

However, exports declined marginally to 30,056 units, compared with 31,745 units in the year-ago period.

Within the passenger vehicle portfolio, utility vehicles continued to be the biggest growth driver. Sales of models including the Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6 rose to 78,851 units in July, up from 52,773 units a year earlier.

The compact and mid-size segment, comprising the Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR, also posted healthy growth, with sales increasing to 90,822 units from 65,840 units.

Entry-level demand remained robust as sales of the Alto and S-Presso nearly doubled to 12,634 units, compared with 6,822 units in July 2025.

For the April-July period of FY27, Maruti Suzuki sold 734,930 units in the domestic market, including LCVs, up from 542,652 units in the corresponding period last year. Total sales, including exports, stood at 924,145 units, compared with 708,387 units in the first four months of FY26.
