The Lok Sabha is set to continue discussions on the Public Examinations (Amendment) Bill, 2026, also known as the Anti-Paper Leak Bill, with the second round of debate beginning at 12:00 PM. Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi is expected to participate, while Union Minister Jitendra Singh will respond to the discussion before the government seeks passage of the Bill. The legislation may also be introduced in the Rajya Sabha later in the day. The government has described the Bill as a major reform to strengthen examination security and curb paper leaks, whereas the Opposition has demanded greater accountability over recent examination controversies. During the previous day’s debate, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi questioned the government’s handling of the issue, called for compensation for affected students, and proposed an AI-driven question bank with minimal human intervention alongside stronger biometric verification at examination centres. The debate also witnessed sharp exchanges between the government and Opposition leaders, including Akhilesh Yadav and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, who traded political barbs while discussing examination reforms and broader governance issues.
