Bellamkonda: I will quit films if audiences look at phones

Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas says he will quit films if audiences look at their phones during Kishkindhapuri amid clash with Teja Sajja's Mirai

Tollywood actor Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas has put his career on the line with his upcoming horror film Kishkindhapuri. While promoting the film, the actor made a bold statement that he would walk away from the industry if the audience failed to stay engaged.

‘I will leave the film industry’

Confident that the film will grip viewers from the start, Sreenivas told Gulte, “What is cinema? If you’re invested in a film for two and a half hours and haven’t looked at your phone, that’s a success. And I think Kishkindhapuri will give that. If anyone looks at their phone after watching Kishkindhapuri for ten minutes, I will leave the film industry. Be it the story or the sound, it is that interesting. We put in a lot of effort to give the audience a good experience.”

Producer confirms massive set worth Rs 2 crore

Earlier, producer Sahu Garapati responded to reports about a lavish set built for the film. Confirming the buzz, he said, “The set was built at a cost of almost two crores. It took us a month to build the set.”He further assured that the film would deliver thrills both visually and musically. “There are many shock factors and moments in the film that are sure to scare audiences,” he added.Calling the movie “technically top-notch,” Garapati said that even the Censor Board officials were impressed after a viewing. “They did not make any cuts in the film. They said the movie was very engaging and good,” he claimed.

Kishkindhapuri vs Mirai at the box office

Directed by Koushik Peggalapati, Kishkindhapuri also stars Anupama Parameswaran alongside Sreenivas. The horror drama will release on September 12, clashing with Mirai, directed by Karthik Gattamneni and Anil Anand, featuring Teja Sajja, Manchu Manoj, and Ritika Nayak.Initially, Bellamkonda Sreenivas expressed his displeasure over the clash, remarking that the Mirai team could have given them a heads-up before announcing their date. However, during a later interaction with social media influencers, the actor softened his stance and clarified his perspective. “The Mirai team has also put in significant efforts. Manoj Garu, Teja, and Karthik Gattamneni are good friends of mine. I wish both films entertain the audience and emerge successful,” he said.Explaining further, Sreenivas noted, “We announced our release date first, but the Mirai team also had to come on September 12 due to certain circumstances. I feel the industry will fare better if such clashes are avoided. There will be times when theatres struggle due to a lack of new releases. If release dates are planned strategically, it will benefit everyone.” Go to Source
