Parliament Monsoon Session: Parliament Disrupted Again on Paper Leak Row, Lok Sabha Adjourned Amid Opposition Protest

The fifth day of the Monsoon Session witnessed another disruption in Parliament as Opposition MPs continued their protest over the paper leak issue and demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Before the proceedings began, Opposition leaders raised slogans and staged demonstrations inside the Parliament complex, maintaining pressure on the government over student-related concerns. The Lok Sabha began with tributes to the armed forces ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas, with members paying homage to soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The Speaker urged MPs to allow Question Hour to function, emphasizing that Parliament should remain a platform for debate, accountability, and discussion. However, soon after Question Hour began, Opposition protests intensified, forcing the Lok Sabha to adjourn until 12 noon. The government has maintained that it is ready for a discussion on paper leaks and examination reforms under parliamentary rules. Meanwhile, attention remains focused on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of a strict anti-paper leak law, which is expected to be approved by the Cabinet and introduced in Parliament during the ongoing session.
