Student Protest: CJP-Government Dialogue Today, Centre Looks to Resolve Standoff Over Education Minister Demand

A major development has emerged in the ongoing efforts to resolve the standoff between CJP and the Central government over the student protest movement. CJP chief spokesperson Saurabh Das confirmed that a meeting with government representatives will be held at 12:30 pm at the Constitution Club of India. The meeting will bring together CJP’s top leadership and senior government ministers to discuss possible solutions. CJP has welcomed Sonam Wangchuk’s decision to end his hunger strike but has maintained that the Jantar Mantar protest will continue until all demands are fulfilled. The government is expected to focus on persuading CJP to reconsider its demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Sources suggest that senior ministers, including J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh, may represent the government, while CJP is likely to send a small delegation led by Saurabh Das. The discussions are expected to focus on the government’s proposed stricter measures against paper leaks, legal reforms, and examination system improvements. The key challenge will be whether the dialogue can bridge the gap over accountability and ministerial responsibility.
