The much-awaited Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services are expected to begin operations soon. The project is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

For the first time in India, a local metro in Meerut will run on the same route as the semi-high-speed Namo Bharat train.

Final testing for both high-speed trains is currently underway, with officials closely watching their performance and timing to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Officials say the Namo Bharat train will operate at a top speed of 160 km/h, while the Meerut Metro, expected to be the fastest in India, will reach speeds of up to 120 km/h.

The Namo Bharat train and the Meerut Metro train are modern transport systems which will be operated from the centralised Operation Control Center (OCC).
