Diamond Pathakams, Crore-Rupee Cheques: Devotion at Tirumala Keeps Flowing
The temple town of Tirumala is no stranger to acts of devotion expressed through generous donations. Every day, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) receives contributions worth crores of rupees from devotees. These offerings fund everything from free meals to healthcare for the poor, reflecting the enduring bond between faith and service.

Adding to this tradition, a devotee from Bengaluru has donated more than Rs1 crore to the TTD. Choosing to remain anonymous, the devotee handed over a demand draft of Rs 1,00,50,000 to TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu at his camp office in Tirumala.
The contribution was made under the Sri Balaji Arogya Varaprasadini Scheme, a program that supports advanced medical services for underprivileged and disabled patients through the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS).
The TTD later confirmed the donation, noting that such contributions are crucial to sustaining its charitable activities. While the temple is celebrated as one of the richest Hindu shrine in the world, its vast resources also flow into social welfare.
Healthcare projects, Annaprasadam (free meals), and educational support continue to expand thanks to the steady generosity of devotees.
A Year of Big Contributions
This latest offering follows other notable donations from Bengaluru-based devotees earlier this year. Kalyan Krishnamurthy contributed Rs 1 crore to the Sri Venkateswara Annaprasadam Trust, which feeds thousands of pilgrims every day.
Another devotee, K.M. Srinivasa Murthy, presented a diamond-studded gold Lakshmi Pathakam valued at Rs 25 lakh. Each of these gifts has been welcomed by the temple trust as a reminder of the faith devotees place in Lord Venkateswara.
TTD officials expressed deep gratitude for the continued flow of donations, emphasizing how these contributions help extend humanitarian services. For countless pilgrims who arrive at Tirumala after long journeys, the free meals, medical care, and educational aid supported by these funds are lifelines.
Behind every offering lies devotion, but also the quiet impact of service that reaches far beyond the temple’s sanctum.
