Ariana Grande overcomes technical glitch at Brooklyn concert

Ariana Grande overcomes technical glitch at Brooklyn concert amid romantic verse change for Ricky Alvarez: 'Did you hear any of that?'

Ariana Grande, the ‘Supernatural’ star, did not let a technical glitch ruin her performance on her first night at Barclays Center in New York City. The stunning pit stop in Brooklyn came with a microphone malfunction. While the 33-year-old pop icon patiently gestured to her team about the issue, the concertgoers continued to sing ‘Eternal Sunshine’ without missing a beat, at full volume. Here’s a closer look at Ariana Grande’s iconic performance in New York City, despite the microphone derailment.

Ariana Grande overcomes technical difficulties seamlessly

Ariana Grande was in the middle of playing her recent hit when the microphone suddenly cut out. The technical glitch was sorted after she completed the song with the audience’s help, per PEOPLE. “Oh, it’s back now!” The singer said, apologising to concertgoers, “It’s back now, so sorry.” Expressing gratitude to the crew who instantly fixed the problem, Grande stated, “Thank you so much! Thank you to our amazing team who’s dealing with these technical difficulties,” and added, “And thank you for your patience.” Garnering a loud cheer from the fans, the ‘7 Rings’ singer asked, “Okay, we’re back! Should we continue?” After playing the notes of ‘Just Like Magic,’ the concerned singer confirmed with the audience whether they could hear her this time, “Did you hear any of that?”

Ariana Grande prompts gasps after ‘Thank You, Next’ lyric change

The ‘Thank You, Next’ singer changed the lyrics dedicated to her ex-boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez, whom she dated between 2015 and 2016. Sparking dating rumours, she subtly shared lyrics suggesting they rekindled after all these years. During the show, Grande sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky; We always find our way back,” instead of the original lyrics, “Wrote some songs about Ricky; Now I listen and laugh.” The change received loud applause, cheers, and gasps from the concertgoers, as well as netizens after the clips surfaced online.
