In a recent development in the ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’ court case, the Delhi High Court postponed the hearing on Salman Khan’s plea against the film’s release. The matter could not be taken up due to a shortage of time.

Hearing adjourned by Delhi High Court

According to a report by IANS, the court adjourned the hearing and will hear the case on Friday. The case was listed before Justice Jyoti Singh. Earlier, the court issued a notice to filmmaker Amit Jani and the other respondents after Salman Khan sought relief against the film’s release.Salman Khan and his team approached the Delhi High Court claiming the film uses his personality and life story without permission. They further suggest that the proposed film wrongly portrays the events connected to him and violates his personality rights.

Salman Khan’s team statement

The ‘Maatrubhumi’ actor’s legal team further argued that the movie takes inspiration from his 1998 blackbuck poaching case and his alleged rivalry with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. They have approached the court to stop the film’s release.During an earlier hearing, Salman Khan’s lawyer, Nizam Pasha, told the court that the film’s poster and trailer had already been released even though the release date had not yet been announced.

What did the filmmakers say ?

In response, the filmmakers opposed the request for urgent relief. Their lawyer told the court that they haven’t received the complete set of legal documents related to the case and asked for proper copies before responding.Earlier, the court had postponed the matter without granting any interim relief. It had directed Salman Khan’s legal team to provide the filmmakers with the complete copy of the case documents before the next hearing. Before moving the court, Salman Khan’s legal team had also sent a legal notice to the makers, asking them to stop the film’s release and remove all promotional material, including posters and publicity content.Directed by Bharat S. Shrinet, the film is said to be a courtroom drama and crime thriller.Disclaimer: The information in this report is based on a legal hearing as reported by a third-party source.
