AICWA seeks high-level probe into Rajesh Sharma’s health

Rajesh Sharma health update: AICWA seeks high-level probe into Prabhas' 'Fauji' shooting set medical emergency

Veteran actor Rajesh Sharma’s sudden illness has spread concern in the film industry. The actor reportedly suffered a medical emergency at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad while shooting for Prabhas’ upcoming film ‘Fauji,’ directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, and then travelled to Kolkata for treatment. Medical staff is closely monitoring him, and his condition has sparked renewed discussion about workplace safety and emergency medical response on film sets.

AICWA demands high-level investigation into Rajesh Sharma’s medical emergency

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has demanded an immediate, transparent, and high-level probe into the incident. As reported by IANS, the association has also sought Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s intervention for a detailed inquiry into the circumstances that led to the actor’s health deterioration. AICWA has questioned whether proper emergency medical facilities were available on the set and why the actor was not shifted to a leading hospital in Hyderabad if his condition had turned critical during filming. The association also wants authorities to examine whether mandatory safety, hygiene, and medical protocols were followed by the production team.

Association seeks accountability and complete medical support

AICWA said the film industry has both a legal and moral responsibility to provide a safe working environment for artists, technicians, and crew members. The association alleged that concerns related to hygiene, sanitation, and emergency healthcare have been repeatedly raised at several shooting locations. It also claimed that many workers hesitate to speak openly about such issues due to fear of losing employment. If any negligence is proved, AICWA has demanded accountability and asked the producers of ‘Fauji’ to bear the entire expense of Rajesh Sharma’s treatment and ensure he gets the best medical treatment till he recovers fully.

Rajesh Sharma remains under observation after reported insect bite

According to earlier reports, Rajesh Sharma’s health worsened after he was reportedly bitten by an insect during the shoot. He subsequently developed high fever, breathlessness and severe distress and was admitted to a private hospital at Dhakuria in West Bengal. Actor Sudipa Chatterjee first shared the update.Rajesh Sharma, a graduate of the National School of Drama, is one of the most respected character actors in Indian cinema with memorable performances in films like ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, ‘Piku’, ‘Special 26’, ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story,’ ‘Mardaani 2,’ and several others. Go to Source
