The annual Amarnath Yatra entered its second day with thousands of devotees enthusiastically making their way to the holy Amarnath Cave to offer prayers at the naturally formed ice Shivling. Pilgrims continued chanting “Bam Bam Bhole” as they advanced along both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, reflecting strong religious fervour. Meanwhile, the third batch of pilgrims departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp in Jammu under tight security arrangements. Authorities have implemented extensive security measures to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the 57-day pilgrimage, which is scheduled to conclude on August 28. The Jammu and Kashmir administration has reiterated that no pilgrim will be permitted to undertake the yatra before the date mentioned on their registration permit. Devotees have been urged to follow the designated schedule, cooperate with officials, and strictly adhere to all safety guidelines issued by the administration. Officials expressed confidence that comprehensive security and logistical arrangements are in place to facilitate a peaceful and well-organized pilgrimage for all participants throughout the duration of the annual religious event.
