Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding: Venue, 1,000 guest list, timings and everything we know so far

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s reported wedding celebrations are expected to reach their grand finale on Friday with a lavish reception at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, where nearly 1,000 guests are anticipated to attend. Although the celebrity couple have remained silent about their wedding plans, preparations at the iconic venue and official city permits have fuelled widespread speculation that one of the year’s biggest celebrity events is underway.According to documents obtained by The Associated Press, New York City’s permitting office approved a special event permit for Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, allowing a two-day private celebration. The documents show that festivities began with an intimate gathering on Thursday before culminating in Friday night’s main reception.

Private rehearsal dinner kicks off celebrations

The agency reported that around 100 guests attended Thursday evening’s private event, believed to be the couple’s rehearsal dinner. Guests reportedly arrived in black SUVs through a specially constructed tented entrance that shielded them from public view.Overnight, workers transformed the venue for the larger celebration by installing additional entry points, security infrastructure and a drive-through arrival area for VIP guests. Official permit documents reviewed by the news agency state that Friday’s event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. local time and may continue until 4 a.m. on Saturday. The venue has approval to host up to 1,000 attendees.

Traffic restrictions imposed around Madison Square Garden

Authorities have announced extensive road closures and heightened security around Madison Square Garden to accommodate the event. Several streets surrounding the venue will remain closed to traffic, while pedestrian movement in parts of the area will also be restricted during the Independence Day holiday weekend, according to the permit details. The increased security presence has drawn large crowds of fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the singer and the NFL star as celebrations continue.

Star-studded guest list expected

While organisers have not released an official guest list, media reports suggest several of Swift’s close friends from the entertainment industry are expected to attend. Rumoured guests include Selena Gomez, Jack Antonoff, Lena Dunham, the Haim sisters, Zoë Kravitz, Emma Stone, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper.Reports have also suggested that music legends Stevie Nicks, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney could perform during the celebrations, although those appearances have not been confirmed.

New York embraces the celebrations

The reported wedding has become a major talking point across New York City. Mayor Zohran Mamdani joined in the excitement by sharing a Spotify playlist featuring some of his favourite Taylor Swift songs, including Love Story (Taylor’s Version), Cruel Summer, Delicate, my tears ricochet and I Don’t Wanna Live Forever, according to local media reports.Madison Square Garden also holds recent significance for Swift, who was spotted there during the NBA Finals alongside actress Mariska Hargitay and members of the Haim band. Although the venue has not hosted an Eras Tour concert, it is now reportedly serving as the backdrop for one of the biggest moments of the singer’s personal life. Go to Source
