Aamir Khan is set to marry his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, on July 5. The actor recently confirmed that he will be tying the knot for the third time and revealed that the wedding will be a private affair attended only by close family members and a small circle of friends. For those not in the know, Aamir had introduced his girlfriend Gauri to the media on his 60th birthday last year in March. According to a report by India Today, Aamir and Gauri have deliberately opted for a low-key celebration. The guest list is expected to include around 100 to 150 people, comprising family, a few close friends and select members of the film fraternity. The report adds that the couple has been personally involved in planning every aspect of the ceremony, including the guest list and the menu. The celebrations are expected to begin with the couple registering their marriage under the Special Marriage Act, followed by an intimate lunch for invited guests. The lunch menu is said to feature some of the couple’s favourite dishes, with both Aamir and Gauri taking an active role in the preparations. Their children and immediate family members are expected to attend the ceremony. Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, one of Aamir’s longtime friends, and director Raj Kumar Santoshi, who helmed Aamir’s production ‘Batwara’, are among those likely to be present. Speaking to the media on Thursday evening during the screening of ‘Pritam and Pedro’, Aamir confirmed the wedding plans and reiterated that the celebrations would remain simple and private. He said, “Haan meri shaadi ho rahi hai July 5 ko aur bahut hi choti shaadi hai, ghar mein hi kar rahe hain. 5 ko bahut hi khaas din hai humare liye aur bas dono families hain, kuch khaas dost hain, chota sa ghar pe hi kar rahe hain hum log. Aur sabki duaein chahenge hum (Yes, I’m getting married on July 5. It’s going to be a very intimate wedding, and we’re having it at home. July 5 is a very special day for us. It will be a small ceremony with just our families and a few close friends. We’re keeping it simple and celebrating at home. We would love to have everyone’s blessings).”Originally from Bengaluru, Gauri Spratt is associated with the fashion, beauty and wellness industry and currently lives in Mumbai. She is also the mother of a young son. Although many came to know about her after her relationship with Aamir became public, the two have known each other for nearly 25 years. They first met decades ago before losing touch, eventually reconnecting years later. Their renewed friendship gradually developed into a romantic relationship.
