Vijay’s film ‘Jana Nayagan’ has been in release limbo since its official January release date. Recently, reports claimed the film already received an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, another report clarified that these claims are untrue.

‘A’ certificate reports is a speculation

According to the latest update by India Today, the film has not yet received censor clearance. The makers are still waiting for the CBFC’s decision and expect the process to be completed next week. The report further states that the buzz about the movie receiving an A rating is mere speculation. The team is hopeful to get the certificate and share the release date accordingly.

‘Jana Nayagan’ release buzz

Earlier as per NDTV, reports had claimed that the film was given an A certificate with a few cuts. It was also reported that the final certificate would be issued next week. However, the makers have now denied those claims.According to reports, the team is planning to release ‘Jana Nayagan’ on July 16. If that date is not possible, July 23 is reportedly being considered as another option. There are also discussions about a July 31 release. However, that date may be difficult because Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut ‘Sigma’ is also scheduled to release on the same day.The makers are expected to officially announce the release date only after the film receives censor clearance.

About ‘Jana Nayagan’

Directed by H Vinoth, the film is a political action thriller where Vijay is seen as a former police officer. It also features Pooja Hegde as the leading lady, Bobby Deol as the main villain, and includes Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mamitha Baiju and others. The film is reportedly Vijay’s last before he focuses on his political career.
