Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation Theft: Police Quiz Key Accused Avinash Shukla During Custodial Remand

The investigation into the alleged Ram Temple donation theft case in Ayodhya has gathered pace, with police taking key accused Avinash Shukla into custodial remand for intensive questioning. Investigators believe the interrogation could help uncover additional evidence and clarify the alleged theft of cash donations from the temple. A local court granted police approximately 13 hours of custodial remand, allowing investigators to question Avinash Shukla and carry out recovery operations linked to the case. Police had sought a longer remand, arguing that further investigation, recoveries, and verification of evidence were required. Following the court’s order, the accused was taken for a medical examination before being escorted for further investigative procedures. According to investigators, one of the primary objectives during the remand is the recovery of a motorcycle believed to be connected to the case. Police are also expected to visit locations in Pratapgarh as part of the recovery process and continue gathering documentary and physical evidence. Officials have stated that Avinash Shukla is considered a key accused because the largest cash recovery in the investigation was allegedly made from him. During earlier searches, investigators reportedly recovered more than ₹20 lakh in cash, along with foreign currency, prompting police to intensify the probe into the alleged network involved in the theft. Investigators are also examining how the alleged thefts were carried out, including the handling, counting, and movement of donation money inside the temple premises. Police are attempting to establish whether additional individuals were involved and how the alleged operation functioned over time. Authorities believe the custodial interrogation could provide crucial leads regarding the chain of events, financial transactions, and the identities of any other persons connected to the case. The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not announced any final conclusions regarding the allegations.
