Noida emerges as UP's industrial powerhouse with electronics, semiconductor and solar projects gathering pace

A semiconductor project involving an investment of Rs 3,250 crore has been allotted 16 acres in the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Sector 10

Once considered a “jinxed” destination for Uttar Pradesh chief ministers, Noida (Gautam Buddha Nagar) has emerged as the state’s fastest-growing industrial hub, with major investments in electronics manufacturing, semiconductors, solar energy and cluster-based industrial development transforming the district into a key driver of Uttar Pradesh’s manufacturing ambitions.Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who broke with the long-held superstition surrounding visits to Noida by making several trips to the district, has overseen the rapid expansion of industrial infrastructure in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region. Today, Noida is home to dedicated parks for apparel, medical devices, toys, MSMEs, handicrafts, One District One Product (ODOP) products and electronics manufacturing, attracting investments worth thousands of crores and generating large-scale employment.

Electronics manufacturing cluster approved

A major milestone was achieved on June 24, 2025, when the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology approved the development of an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC Park) across 206.40 acres in YEIDA’s Sector 10.The project, estimated to cost around Rs 417 crore, will receive Rs 144.48 crore from the Centre, while the Yamuna Authority will contribute Rs 272.52 crore. YEIDA had submitted the proposal through STPI Limited on March 28, 2024, and signed an MoU with STPI on July 3, 2025. Construction is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2027, with infrastructure work targeted for completion by September 2027. The engineering contract has been awarded to M/s JSP Projects Private Limited. The EMC Park is expected to create a world-class ecosystem for the electronics industry and strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as an electronics manufacturing destination.

Solar manufacturing sees major investment

The solar sector has also witnessed significant investment with Saatvik Solar Pvt. Ltd. establishing a manufacturing unit in YEIDA’s Sector 8.The company has been allotted 200 acres to manufacture solar cells and solar modules. The project involves an investment of Rs 8,253 crore and is expected to create direct employment for around 5,000 people. The foundation stone for the facility was laid on November 14, 2025, and construction is currently underway.

Semiconductor manufacturing gains momentum

Semiconductor manufacturing is also expanding in Noida.A project involving an investment of Rs 3,250 crore has been allotted 16 acres in the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Sector 10. The facility will manufacture flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs), High-Density Interconnect (HDI) PCBs and semiconductor substrates. The land was allotted on January 16, 2026, while the lease deed was executed on April 28, 2026. The project is expected to generate employment for around 1,500 people. In another project, 100 acres of land in YEIDA’s Sector 8 was allocated on January 16, 2026, for an investment of Rs 3,532 crore. The proposed unit will manufacture copper-clad laminates, assemblies, computer electronic appliances and other electronic components, creating employment for nearly 2,000 people.

Cluster-based development accelerates

The Apparel Park, Medical Device Park, Toy Park, MSME Park, ODOP Park, Handicraft Park and Electronics Manufacturing Cluster being developed in the YEIDA region are contributing to Uttar Pradesh’s industrial transformation through a cluster-based development model.

Push towards a manufacturing hub

The state government said major domestic and international companies are investing in Uttar Pradesh, citing investor-friendly policies, improved law and order, modern infrastructure and a faster approval system.Investments in electronics, semiconductors, solar energy and other high-tech sectors are expected to generate thousands of jobs while supporting the state’s goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy.Earlier this week, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth around Rs 2,478 crore in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Among them were an electronic circuit manufacturing plant in YEIDA Sector 10, expected to attract Rs 7,000 crore in investment from a South Korean industrial group, and a solar cell manufacturing unit in Sector 8.Improved connectivity through expressways and the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar is also strengthening the region’s logistics network, making Gautam Buddha Nagar an increasingly attractive destination for domestic and global investors.
