The investigation into the murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has entered a crucial phase after a court extended the police custody of accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary until July 3. Pune Police is expected to recreate the crime scene at Lohagad Fort to verify evidence and reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding the alleged murder. Investigators will also search for Ketan’s missing passport, which police believe was destroyed before a planned Bali trip to prevent the couple from travelling. Forensic teams are working to recover deleted WhatsApp chats and call records from the accused’s phones while conducting gait analysis to confirm CCTV evidence. Police are also examining whether the accused conducted reconnaissance at the fort before the crime and whether any additional individuals were involved in the conspiracy. According to investigators, Siya allegedly signalled Chetan before he pushed Ketan into a gorge. Police are also probing allegations that Siya diverted ₹1 crore received for wedding shopping to Chetan as part of their long-term plan.
