Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had scheduled their visit to the United Kingdom ahead of the engagements for a one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. However, after the taxpayer-funded security was rejected, the Duke of Sussex fears that his two children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, will not be able to meet King Charles III. The trip marked the first time in four years that they would visit the royal family; however, the plans are now being reconsidered. Here’s a closer look at Prince Harry’s fear for his children following the security measures.

Prince Harry feels distraught as the UK plans become uncertain

Prince Harry was reportedly excited for his children to reunite with King Charles, as the family planned to visit in early July 2026. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now appear to be reconsidering their family trip because police protection outside the royal residences has been denied. The last-minute development has made the 41-year-old distraught, as he fears his children would be “chased by paparazzi wherever they go from the moment they step off the plane,” according to The Guardian. While the royal family member wants to explore other options, he feels it would not be possible without proper arrangements. “Their plans to see family, friends, and visit various charitable causes close to the duke’s heart have been pulled out from under their feet at the 11th hour. He’s looking at every option to try to get the family here safely and keep them safe when they’re on the ground. If he can find a way to do that, he will,” the outlet reported. Prince Harry desired his children to meet their grandparents, but he would not sacrifice their safety.
