Heavy overnight rainfall inundated several low-lying areas of Mumbai, causing waterlogging, traffic congestion, and disruption to daily life. Knee-deep water accumulated in Vashi, while the Andheri subway was closed after flooding forced traffic diversions. Panvel and parts of Thane also witnessed severe waterlogging, although conditions improved after the rain subsided. Meanwhile, relentless rainfall has triggered floods and landslides across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, leaving at least three people dead and damaging roads, bridges, and railway infrastructure. Several districts remain cut off as rescue teams continue relief operations. Rising water levels have also prompted authorities in Jammu and Kashmir to open the gates of the Baglihar and Salal dams, increasing flood concerns downstream.
