Star couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were among the high-profile spectators at Lord’s on Sunday as India faced Australia in a crucial Group A clash of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.The couple was seen cheering enthusiastically for the Indian women’s team from the stands, applauding key moments and soaking in the action as Harmanpreet Kaur’s side looked to secure a place in the semi-finals.

Virat, Anushka join cricket stars at Lord’s

Adding to the star-studded atmosphere at the iconic venue, former India head coach Ravi Shastri was seated alongside Virat and Anushka during the match. Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan and his wife Sophie Shine were also present, with the group later posing together for a picture.Sharing the moment on X, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captioned the post, “Virat, Ravi bhai, and Shikhi Paaji: full house at Lord’s today.”For the outing, Virat opted for a brown shirt paired with white trousers, while Anushka kept it casual in a simple dress, which she styled with comfortable flats and a cap.

India post 170 against Australia

On the field, India put up a competitive total of 170/4 after captain Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front with a blistering knock.After winning the toss, Harmanpreet elected to bat first on a batting-friendly surface, with India needing a win to keep their semi-final hopes alive following South Africa’s victory over Bangladesh earlier in the day.Openers Smriti Mandhana (38) and Shafali Verma (34) gave India a brisk start, making full use of the Powerplay with aggressive strokeplay and quick running between the wickets. Harmanpreet then provided the finishing flourish, smashing three consecutive sixes in the final over before being dismissed off the penultimate ball. The skipper scored 56 off just 27 deliveries, lacing her innings with six boundaries and three sixes.The match holds significant importance for India’s Women’s T20 World Cup campaign, with a victory over the unbeaten Australians guaranteeing Harmanpreet Kaur’s side a place in the semi-finals.
