Pakistan was rocked by a major terrorist attack after heavily armed militants targeted the Sindh Rangers’ paramilitary headquarters in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. According to officials, four Rangers personnel were killed and several others were injured in the assault. Security forces launched a swift counter-operation, killing three terrorists. The banned militant group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction linked to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack. Following the assault, authorities sealed off the entire area and began an extensive search operation to locate any remaining militants and their facilitators. The attack has raised serious questions about Pakistan’s security preparedness, as militants managed to strike one of the country’s most heavily guarded security installations.
