Despite a slow opening week, the Partition-era love story has built significant momentum on the back of strong word-of-mouth and is now firmly on course to cross the Rs 70 crore mark worldwide in its third week.

‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ opened to critical acclaim but found limited traction at the ticket windows in its first week, earning an estimated Rs 12.25 crore in seven days. The tide turned dramatically in week 2, as audiences flocked to cinemas following strong word-of-mouth buzz, with the film raking in Rs 22.5 crore.

It seems the momentum has carried into the third week as well. As per the Sacnilk report, ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ collected Rs 4.25 crore across 1,803 shows on Day 16, registering an impressive growth of 54.5% over its previous day’s earnings. The total India net collection now stands at Rs 41.80 crore, while the India gross has reached Rs 49.83 crore.

On the international front, the film added Rs 85 lakh on Day 16, taking its total overseas gross to Rs 14.90 crore. Combined with domestic figures, the worldwide gross collection of Main Vaapas Aaunga now stands at Rs 64.73 crore.

Box office competition

In its third week, ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ faces a crowded box office, competing alongside ‘Cocktail 2’, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, as well as the newly released Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. The Homi Adajania directorial earned Rs 4.25 crore on Saturday, while ‘Welcome 3’ raked in Rs 20 crore on the same day at the domestic box office.
