A major controversy has erupted over alleged irregularities in donations received at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya after a Special Investigation Team (SIT) reportedly submitted its preliminary findings to the government. According to sources, the 15-page initial report highlights several concerns regarding donation management, record-keeping, and internal monitoring mechanisms within the temple administration. One of the key observations in the report is the alleged mismatch between the rising number of devotees and the reported donation collections. Investigators reportedly questioned why donation figures appeared lower during periods of increased footfall. In response, it was allegedly explained that a larger share of offerings consisted of coins rather than currency notes. The report is also said to have raised concerns about personnel involved in handling temple operations. Several individuals were reportedly found working in sensitive roles without documented appointment records. Questions have additionally been raised regarding the functioning of committees responsible for monitoring and counting donations. According to sources familiar with the investigation, the SIT has also flagged unusual increases in the assets of certain employees over the past five years. Investigators are reportedly examining whether there is a clear audit trail showing how donations were received, recorded, and processed. The controversy has intensified following claims by representatives of the Sindhi community that silver bricks donated to the temple were not properly acknowledged through official receipts. Opposition leaders have seized on the issue, demanding a more comprehensive and transparent investigation. Meanwhile, temple authorities and individuals associated with the trust have disputed several allegations and questioned the credibility of the claims being circulated. Political reactions have further escalated the debate, turning the matter into a major public and political issue. The preliminary report is expected to undergo further review, and additional investigations may follow before any final conclusions or legal actions are determined.
