‘Thought Akshay must have paid the bill’: Chunky Panday on Akshay Kumar’s restaurant prank during ‘Housefull’ shoot

Actor Chunky Panday has revisited a memorable behind-the-scenes moment involving Akshay Kumar that left him in an unexpectedly awkward situation during a film shoot. The actor shared the incident during his appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, where he spoke about a prank that unfolded during their collaboration. The topic came up when host Kapil Sharma asked him whether he had ever been pranked in the industry. Chunky then narrated an incident that took place during the filming of ‘Housefull’.

Restaurant plan turns into unexpected situation

According to Chunky, the incident happened while shooting ‘Housefull’ in Italy, when Akshay Kumar invited the entire film unit for a meal at a restaurant. The gathering initially appeared to be a friendly get-together hosted by Akshay.Everything seemed normal during the dinner, as the team enjoyed food and drinks together. However, the situation changed suddenly when Akshay and others quietly left the venue, leaving Chunky behind without his knowledge. He shared, “Akshay took me to a restaurant in Italy, and he told everyone in the unit that he was treating everyone. So we went there, drank wine, ate food, and all. I went to the bathroom because the bill was about to come. As I was in the bathroom, they all left. So when I came out of the bathroom, I thought Akshay must have paid the bill.”

Awkward moment at the restaurant

Chunky further revealed that he only realized what had happened when the restaurant staff approached him regarding the bill. The situation quickly became uncomfortable for him, as he was left to handle an unexpected responsibility. He said, “The hotel manager came looking for me. He took me to the kitchen to wash the utensils,” he added. The actor explained that the moment turned embarrassing, as he had no idea he was being left behind to deal with the payment situation alone.

Support arrives sfter the incident

Chunky mentioned that the situation eventually eased when filmmakers Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala returned to the restaurant. Their arrival helped resolve the misunderstanding and ensured the matter was settled. He added that although the incident felt awkward at the time, it later became a humorous memory shared among the team during the shoot of ‘Housefull’.
