KidSuper opts for Miami for spring/summer 2027 show

Colm Dillane’s team approached this announcement with notable caution. The Brooklyn-born brand KidSuper has become a fixture at Paris Fashion Week. This season, however, which kicks off on June 23, the label will, exceptionally, stage its show in Miami to tap into the momentum generated by the World Cup.

The show will take place on Thursday, June 25 at the Nu Stadium (Inter Miami’s home ground) and will be live-streamed in Paris from a yet-to-be-disclosed location. The brand has framed this decision in symbolic terms, noting in a press release the importance of the City of Light to its growth. “It is there that many of KidSuper’s most ambitious ideas have found their audience. It is there that a creative project from Brooklyn transformed into an international platform,” the brand wrote.

A passion for football and a homecoming

The brand described this change of programme as a “special, off-schedule Paris Fashion Week show,” attributing it to Dillane’s love of football.

“Football has always had the power to bring people together,” Dillane explained, in a press release. “You can land in an unfamiliar place, not speak the language, find a pitch and, suddenly, make friends. Fashion sometimes has the same power. This show celebrates that feeling,” he added.

“Throughout Dillane’s often unpredictable life and career, football has remained a constant. Wherever work takes him, one of the first things he looks for is a football pitch and a group of people ready to play. It has become a ritual. A way to connect with strangers, understand a city and find an anchoring point amid perpetual motion. The opportunity to present a collection during one of the world’s biggest sporting events was simply irresistible,” the brand added.

This passion for football surely underpins the collaboration between the American label and Bape on 48 pairs of shoes, each representing a country participating in the World Cup.

“The event will also serve as a rallying point for several of KidSuper’s current partners, while introducing new collaborators whose participation will be revealed in the coming weeks,” the brand added, regarding its presence in Miami.
