Tanishaa: Freezing eggs at 38 was a practical decision

Tanishaa Mukerji says freezing her eggs at 38 was a practical decision: ‘Having a child is two people creating life out of love’

Tanishaa Mukerji recently opened up about her decision to freeze her eggs at the age of 38. In a recent interview, the actress explained that it wasn’t an emotional impulse but a practical step. She said she wanted to ensure that if she found a partner in the future, she would have the option of younger eggs to conceive. “It was a good choice, it’s my safety net,” the 47-year-old told Pinkvilla. But for Tanishaa, the thought of motherhood has always been linked with love and partnership. “My thinking is not that I wanted to have a child on my own. For me, having a child is two people coming together and creating a life out of love,” she said. While acknowledging that some choose single parenthood, she emphasized her own belief that raising a child requires two families. “I really have a huge amount of respect for a single parent. It’s not easy. But would I choose to do it? Not necessarily,” she clarified.

On loneliness and purpose

Asked about whether she ever feels a sense of emptiness, the actress maintained that she doesn’t. Tanishaa shared that she constantly finds meaning in life, even though marriage has not happened for her so far. “I always come out with a better perspective. My life is not empty, because I fill it up a lot,” she reflected. Still, she admitted to moments of longing, wishing sometimes that things had been different. But her spiritual outlook keeps her grounded. “I am also a Hindu, so I think I will do it in my next life. You must have done so much in your previous life that you feel like you’re just going to party,” she added with a touch of humour.
