'Gu' OTT release date: When and where to stream Saiju Kurup's horror fantasy thriller online

Malayalam horror-fantasy film ‘Gu’ is preparing for its digital debut nearly two years after its theatrical release. Featuring Saiju Kurup and child actor Deva Nandha in pivotal roles, the film blends mystery, folklore and family drama against a distinctly Kerala backdrop.

‘Gu’ to stream on this platform

The makers have officially announced that Gu will begin streaming on ManoramaMAX from June 19, 2026.The announcement was made through a promotional video featuring Saiju Kurup. Inviting audiences to watch the film, the actor said, “Welcome. Family thriller horror film ‘Gu’ directed by Manu Radhakrishnan will start streaming from June 19 onwards. Please do watch and enjoy.”At the center of the story is Minna, an eight-year-old girl who becomes entangled in a mystery linked to her ancestral home.As she begins uncovering hidden secrets she finds herself confronting an ancient curse that has haunted the family for years. ‘Gu’ is written and directed by Manu Radhakrishnan, who crafted the project as a blend of horror and fantasy.Saiju Kurup leads the cast alongside Deva Nandha and actor Niranjan also appears in an important role.

Theatrical journey and re-release

‘Gu’ first arrived in theatres on May 17 (2024). The film later returned to cinemas through a re-release on July 18 on the same year itself. The film received encouraging feedback from several viewers online. One review stated, “Nice Movie, try not to miss the theatre experience”The reviewer further shared, “I wanted to watch this movie on initial release but I couldn’t as it wasn’t released in any of my nearby theatres . So I thought I missed something big. Then they rereleased it.”The same review continued, “If I would have missed it in theater then it would have been a huge loss for me. Plot is good and interesting. Making is really good. Hope people get to know about this movie much more, just because they didn’t casted any big heads in the movie most of the people are not willing to watch, people should change.”
